Job Description
Muktinath Seed Bank Limited is dedicated to enhancing agricultural productivity and sustainability by promoting high-quality seeds, including hybrid, open-pollinated, and climate-resilient varieties. The company aims to strengthen farmer networks, improve seed adoption, and support sustainable crop production. To achieve these goals, a Seed Coordinator will be recruited to drive sales, provide field-based technical support, and collaborate with farmers, cooperatives, and local governments for effective seed distribution and adoption.
Reports to: Operational Manager/ Province Head
Scope of Work / Duties and Responsibilities
- Promote and sell the company’s seed portfolio, including hybrid, open-pollinated, and specialty seed varieties.
- Develop and implement area-specific sales plans in coordination with the Business team.
- Organize marketing campaigns, awareness programs, and seasonal promotions to boost seed sales.
- Conduct regular visits to commercial farms, cooperatives, and progressive farmers.
- Advise farmers on seed selection, planting techniques, crop management, and adaptation to local conditions.
- Troubleshoot field issues related to seed germination, crop establishment, or varietal performance.
- Lead field-level promotion of improved and climate-resilient seed varieties, emphasizing their benefits and application.
- Support farmers transitioning to high-yielding or stress-tolerant seed varieties.
- Organize demonstration plots, result-sharing events, and success stories to showcase seed performance.
- Identify and establish partnerships with agricultural cooperatives, seed producer groups, and local agri-entrepreneurs.
- Facilitate bulk seed procurement, stock management, and distribution at the cooperative level.
- Support cooperatives with seed planning, inventory management, and post-sales services.
- Conduct market assessments and customer profiling to identify seed market growth opportunities.
- Promote farmer literacy on seed quality, varietal benefits, and sustainable farming practices.
- Submit regular reports on sales, field visits, demonstrations, government interactions, and cooperative engagements.
